Literature, Politics, and Identity: A Conversation with Andrey Kurov
The International and Area Studies Department is pleased to invite you to a special event in the UCLA Library’s “Opening the Doors to Contemporary Literature” series, titled “Literature, Politics, and Identity: A Conversation with Andrey Kurkov.”
Join via Zoom on November 13th from 10:00 to 11:30 am Pacific time for a thought-provoking virtual program with acclaimed Ukrainian novelist Andrey Kurkov, who will be in conversation with Dr. Roman Koropeckyj, UCLA professor of Slavic, East European, and Eurasian languages and cultures. Kurkov will discuss his literary journey, share insights into his experiences as a contemporary writer in Ukraine, and reflect on the current political landscape.
Dr. Koropeckyj, an esteemed scholar in Eastern European literature, will guide the discussion, providing an in-depth exploration of Kurkov’s unique perspectives on how literature intersects with politics and identity.
